The inclusion, diversity, equity, and access (IDEA) committee is a plural group that brings together researchers from several countries to plan initiatives to make the Society and the open scientific community more diverse and inclusive.

- Analyze and report on SIPS member data
- Develop a Diversity in Open Science award
- Plan programming for the SIPS SPSP preconference and SIPS conference
